The Review: NIKE HYPERVENOM

Nike Hypervenom is a totally new concept and breed of football shoes

When players around the world started receiving the new NIKE Hypervenom I was not as excited as when I tried it myself. At first, I thought it will be just another revolutionary shoe that will provide no more than comfort and ease of control on the ball.

However, when I tried it, my perception was changed.

Before receiving the shoe, there was a launch countdown in Dubai by NIKE where many in the city (and some GCC countries) received “the tablet”.

The official launch was on 5 August 2013 and that was the same day I also received mine.

The first impression when holding the box is that it looks dangerously promising. The design of the box goes along with the design promoted earlier for the shoes. Once I opened it, I loved the idea of having a USB flash drive tied to the shoe as it directly gave me the impression that there are more facts to the shoe than what you would expect in any other one.

The NIKE Hypervenom is created with the feedback of players like Neymar, Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.  These players specified the need for a boot that could help them create space quickly in and around the penalty area, and get their shot off from any angle.

Traditionally a new boot will focus on an evolution of the fit, the upper material or the sole plate and stud configuration. Yet, when I tried it, it gave me the impression that this is one entirely new concept boot. It has an amazing level of comfort and feel and most importantly it almost assumed the shape of my foot! This brilliant composition of the boot is referred to as the NIKESKIN. Reading more about what NIKESKIN is, I understand that it “features a soft supple mesh bound with a thin polyurethane film and finished off with the Nike All Conditions Control technology (ACC) that provides the same level of foot-to-ball control in both wet and dry conditions.”

An additional feature of the NIKE Hypervenom is the removal of excess materials to place the foot closer to the ground and the ball. The chassis of the outsole features compressed nylon for a high-response, plate that helps deliver strength while being incredibly light. The stud configuration and length is designed to allow for faster penetration of the surface and ultimately a quicker release.

I am in love with my NIKE Hypervenom and it is now my first choice whenever I am trying my Maradona-esque moves.
